What it covers
A home is lived from the inside. Interior design at Soul In Lines covers the layout of the rooms, materials and finishes, lighting and bespoke furniture, so that every room serves the way you live. It can be done together with the architecture project for a new house, as part of a renovation, or on its own for the interior of an existing home.
The service can include:
- a survey of the existing rooms;
- a layout and circulation plan;
- the choice of materials, finishes and colours, with samples;
- a lighting design;
- bespoke furniture, such as kitchens, wardrobes and shelving;
- 3D visualisations of the rooms;
- following the work with suppliers and builders.
Together with the architecture
When the interior is considered from the start of the project, architecture and interior decisions support each other: window positions suit the furniture, natural light guides the choice of materials, and services end up where they are needed. That is why, in a new house or a renovation, it is worth bringing the two together from the preliminary study.
When the house already exists, the work starts from what is good and what gets in the way every day: a kitchen that does not work, a living room without light, no storage.
How it works
- We listen. A conversation about your routines and habits, what you like and what does not work in your current home. Ana visits the rooms in person whenever the project calls for it.
- We counsel. The concept, the layout and the palette of materials, with 3D visualisations so you can decide with confidence.
- We solve. Detail drawings, specifications and a bill of quantities, so suppliers and builders can quote.
- We deliver. Following the work and the installation until each room is as it was designed.
What you receive
At the end of the project, you receive a set of documents that lets you get quotes and carry out the work without doubts:
- layout and furniture plans for the rooms;
- detail drawings of the bespoke pieces, such as kitchens, wardrobes and shelving;
- a lighting plan;
- the list of materials, finishes and fittings, with references;
- 3D visualisations of the main rooms.
What to gather
- Plans of the house, if you have them.
- Photographs of the rooms.
- References you like: images, materials, pieces you want to keep.
- The budget.
Timelines and fees
Timelines depend on the project: the number of rooms, the bespoke furniture and the suppliers’ lead times. In the first conversation, Ana gives you a realistic idea for your case.
Fees are set for each project in a clear proposal and paid in stages as the work progresses.
Frequently asked questions
Can I do only the interior of an existing home?
Yes. The service can be for an existing home without an architecture project, or for just one or two rooms, such as the kitchen or the living room.
Do interior changes need a licence?
Interior works that do not change the structure, the shape of the façades or the shape of the roofs may be exempt from prior control. If the project involves changes like those, Ana handles the necessary procedure with the Câmara Municipal (the municipal council).
Who carries out the project?
That is your choice. The project includes the specifications suppliers and builders need to quote and carry out the work, and Ana follows the execution.
Does it include choosing furniture and loose pieces?
It can. Besides the bespoke furniture, choosing pieces, fabrics and decorative lighting can be part of the proposal, depending on what you want and the budget. That keeps the result consistent from the first drawing to the last detail.
How do you make sure the result matches the design?
With clear detail drawings, a list of materials agreed before the work starts and Ana following the works and the installation. When something unexpected comes up, the decision is made with her.
